Design elements used in this silhouette reach back to the “chemise moderne” styles of the early 20th century chiefly known for their clean lines and minimal aesthetic. Our version here showcases a dramatic "batik" motif print (which we call “French Batik”) to help express your own personal sense of style.

Our classic Tianello Tencel Penelope Blouse features a wide spread point collar that creates a sophisticated V-neckline that sweeps into a reinforced button down front. Long flattering darts to the torso shape the waist and flare at the hips, giving this fitted body style a somewhat tailored look. Full length sleeves flow into hemmed cuffs. Our sublime French Batik fabric print draws inspiration from the ancient art form of resist dyeing, commonly known as “batik”. Dating back to 4th Century BC Egypt, this technique was also practiced in Asia, Africa and Australia, but has since been highly developed in Indonesia. Batik is prized for its intricate patterns and almost endless color palette. Our “French Batik” rendition here features a blockprint styled, floral landscape rendered in naïve artistry.
