Rayon was the first manufactured textile fiber, invented in 1884 in France, but has been produced for global commercial use since 1905. Our dramatic Happa fabric print draws inspiration from the Avant Garde Arts Movement during the beginning of the 20th century, where impressionist artists used intensely vivid, non-naturalistic and exuberant colors. The emotion driven techniques of Chagall, Kandinsky, Schiele, Matisse and Picasso (to name a few) helped evolve the modern arts aesthetic into prominence and widespread adaptations (such as textile printing).

The primary design element used in our Happa print here is the paisley teardrop, rendered in an impressionistic style. Likewise are abstract tendrils, wild flowers and vinery. Our attractive “Hagen” knit fabric features a jacquard weave of geometric diamonds in horizontal rows, which form a “stripe pattern” repeat. The spaces between the diamond rows are filled with miniature puffed pebbles, which form a clever chevron design. Although this is not a reversible top, the reverse side displays an intriguing jacquard pattern of necklace links in zigzag formation. This ingenious Tencel blend is a wonderful combination of fibers that provide much appreciated comfort and “easy care” practicality. Tencel lends weight to create long lines and an elegant drape. For the environmentally conscious, Tencel comes from a creation process using 100% biodegradable cellulose fiber that is processed using an organic solvent, then spun into a luxurious fiber. The Cotton natural fibers used in this blend give this fabric added strength and “breathability” for long wearing ease. Finally, the Spandex addition affords this micro knit to maintain a delightful elasticity that keeps the shape of the garment, yet allows for figure flattering lines. For centuries Cotton has been renowned as being the principal clothing fiber of the world, and its’ production is one of the most influential factors in world prosperity and economic stability. A medium strength natural plant fiber, Cotton is cool, absorbent, and can withstand high temperatures. When fabricated, Cotton releases perspiration quickly, allowing the fabric to “breathe”, thus giving it a premium on comfort and wearability. Because of its’ absorbency, it is easily garment dyed.

The most common fibers used for industrial woven fabrics are cotton. Our natural fibered, eco-friendly Cotton Embroidered Woven fabric is lightweight for added comfort and wearing ease, and it drapes wonderfully on the body. This fabric features stylish embroidered designs that provide a soft textured surface against an opaque weave, and it is suitable for sewing into many apparel body styles.
