Linen textiles appear to be some of the oldest in the world, where examples found in Europe and Africa date back thousands of years old. Linen is a bast fiber, made from the fibers of the flax plant, and it is labor-intensive to manufacture, thus produced in relatively small quantities. When fabricated, it is highly valued for its’ smooth texture, organic natural luster, and exceptional coolness in hot weather. A very durable and strong fabric, linen is one of the few that is stronger wet than dry, and it has no lint or pilling tendency. Nevertheless, the tendency to wrinkle is often considered part of the fabric’s “charm”, including its’ random “slubs” (small knots) that provide the aesthetic appeal of a natural product.

This premium Linen Voile is lightweight, semi-sheer and gets softer the more it is washed. Linen Voile is also highly absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors (preferably on gentle cycle) and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry, or air dry on a good non-absorbent hanger. Warm, steam iron. Dry clean OK.

Linen textiles appear to be some of the oldest in the world, where examples found in Europe and Africa date back thousands of years old. For centuries linen has often been associated with wealth since it was mainly used by the upper classes of society. Linen is a bast fiber, made from the fibers of the flax plant, and it is labor-intensive to manufacture, thus produced in relatively small quantities. When fabricated, it is highly valued for its’ smooth texture, organic natural luster, and exceptional coolness in hot weather. A very durable and strong fabric, linen is one of the few that is stronger wet than dry, and it has no lint or pilling tendency. Nevertheless, the tendency to wrinkle is often considered part of the fabric’s “charm”, including its’ random “slubs” (small knots) that provide the aesthetic appeal of a natural product.

This premium Linen Voile is lightweight, semi-sheer and gets softer the more it is washed. Linen Voile is also highly absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors (preferably on gentle cycle) and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry, or air dry on a good non-absorbent hanger. Warm, steam iron. Dry clean OK.

Different from other man-made fibers, Rayon is not synthetic, being made from regenerated wood pulp, an Eco-natural, cellulose-rich raw material. Rayon is soft, strong and absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.

Named after the early 20th century French “modiste”, Georgette de la Plante, crêpe “Georgette” is tabby woven and is renowned for its’ distinctive crinkly, light texture because the yarns used in this fabric are hard-twisted, which causes them to crinkle as they relax, giving the fabric a springy quality that makes it seem to move on its’ own. Because of its’ high absorbency Georgette crêpe can be easily garment dyed in a myriad of rich colors, or printed with a multi-hued pattern. FABRIC & CARE

FABRIC CONTENTS: 100% Silk 12MM Crêpe de Chine

Silk has been renowned for centuries as a valuable and luxurious commodity, often associated with wealth and status. The strongest of natural fibers, silk retains its shape, drapes well, caresses the figure, and because of its high absorbency, it is easily garment dyed in a variety of deep colors. This 100% Washable Silk Crêpe de Chine is woven to have a supple, organic feel, unlike many fabrics woven with synthetic fibers. With a 12 mommes weight factor, our Eco-friendly silk of choice is lightweight but is suitable for sewing into many body styles designed for women's silk clothing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach). Tumble dry low, or line dry. Warm iron (silk setting). Dry Clean OK.

Consider then, our woven Jaipur Avlyne Blouse, which was crafted using natural fibered, eco-friendly, Washable Silk Crêpe de Chine chosen for its lightweight elegance, long wearing comfort, and minimal care. Attention is drawn to an exotic floral motif print which offers a casual, but refined look to help express your personal sense of style. With easy care in mind, the "washable silk” fabric selected for this garment makes it a sensible fashion investment. For the wearer and admirer alike, this lovely silk print top gracefully balances sublime fabric print artistry with feminine appeal.

Our pullover Avlyne Blouse features a round neckline with a “split front” V-neck placket that is reinforced with triple-stitched detail. The round bottom hem falls well below the waistline and is fashionably longer on the backside. Full length sleeves are finished with a simple turn-under hem. For a stylish look the sleeves can also be rolled back toward the elbow and fastened with a buttoning tab. Additional design elements include a comfortable loose fitting frame, and subtle single needle stitching throughout the blouse.

Our gorgeous “Jaipur” fabric print draws inspiration from the vast array of exotic flowers found in the tropical rain forests of the sub-continent of India. Showcased here is a mélange of stylized Wood Roses, Poppy bulb florettes, Passion Fruit blossoms, Sumbac Jasmines and Stargazer Lilies, in pattern repeat. Random groupings of polka dots and cane stripes add a vintage personality to the overall complexion of the fabric. This synergy of colors and exquisite floral imagery beautifully enhances the opulent drape of our premium Silk Crêpe de Chine fabric.

FABRIC & CARE

FABRIC CONTENTS: 100% Cotton

For centuries Cotton has been renowned as being the principal clothing fiber of the world, and its’ production is one of the most influential factors in world prosperity and economic stability. A medium strength natural plant fiber, Cotton is cool, absorbent, and can withstand high temperatures. When fabricated, Cotton releases perspiration quickly, allowing the fabric to “breathe”, thus giving it a premium on comfort and wearability. Because of its’ absorbency, it is easily garment dyed.

The most common fibers used for industrial woven fabrics are cotton. Our natural fibered, eco-friendly Cotton Embroidered Woven fabric is lightweight for added comfort and wearing ease, and it drapes wonderfully on the body. This fabric features stylish embroidered designs that provide a soft textured surface against an opaque weave, and it is suitable for sewing into many apparel body styles.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry, or air dry using a non-absorbent hanger. Warm, steam iron (to reverse side). Dry Clean OK.

Such is our woven Jasmine Lakota Blouse here, made of natural fibered, eco-friendly 100% Cotton Cloth, which affords long wearing comfort and requires minimal care. Primary design elements used in this button-down staple have origins dating back to the early 1900’s when women’s apparel design embodied the contemporary ethic of clean lines and uncomplicated styling. Our rendition here offers a feminine quality provided by soft-textured floral embroidery (which we call “Jasmine”) and a vogue, slightly opaque broadcloth weave.

Our Lakota Blouse features a regular point collar and a twin stitched button down front. Elegant draping flows down to a round bottom hem that sits well below the waist. Long flattering darts shape the waist, giving this fitted body style a somewhat tailored look. There is a simple shoulder yoke on the back side of the garment. Both long sleeves sport buttoned cuffs with rounded corners. Subtle single needle stitching throughout enhances the fashion simplicity of this classic silhouette.
