This Rayon blend fabric is a marvelous combination of knit refinement and practicality. Rayon, or Viscose Rayon, was the first manufactured textile fiber, invented in 1884 in France, but has been produced for global commercial use since 1905. Different from other man-made fibers, Rayon is not synthetic, being made from regenerated wood pulp, an Eco-natural, cellulose-rich raw material. THE STORY

Somehow soft ballet style tunics find their way into well appointed wardrobes, like our Crawford Knit Jersey Jacquard Mara Tunic, which was crafted using a premium Rayon blend fabric chosen for long wearing comfort, rich draping and minimal care. With costume origins from traditional ballet corps in Europe during the early 1800’s, the elegant design of this silhouette has enjoyed decades of popularity among women of all ages. Attention is drawn here to the marvelously soft textured “chain link” jacquard pattern (which we call “Crawford”) that serves as a style element as well as a visual statement.

Our pullover Mara Tunic Top features a round neckline, ¾ length sleeves, and a squared bottom hemline that falls to the upper thighs, all classic elements of this ballet inspired body style. Subtle stitching throughout enhances the fashion simplicity of this form fitting silhouette. Garment dyed richness also adds distinctive character to this versatile piece that pairs easily with pants, leggings and designer jeans. Perfect for travel, work or play, this tunic body style makes for a smart fashion investment to any well planned wardrobe.

Our unique “Crawford” knit jacquard here doubles as a design element and provides added visual interest. This jacquard weave features an intriguing design that resembles puffed chain links forming a vertical “bean pod” shape, in pattern repeat. Although this is not a reversible top, the reverse side of the fabric features the negative effect of this pattern in color contrast. This superb dual-weaving artistry beautifully complements the soft-textured feel of our luxe Knit Jersey fabric.

For centuries Cotton has been renowned as being the principal clothing fiber of the world, and its’ production is one of the most influential factors in world prosperity and economic stability. A medium strength natural plant fiber, Cotton is cool, absorbent, and can withstand high temperatures. When fabricated, Cotton releases perspiration quickly, allowing the fabric to “breathe”, thus giving it a premium on comfort and wearability. Because of its’ absorbency, it is easily garment dyed.

The most common fibers used for industrial knitted fabrics are cotton. Our Cotton Blend Knit Jersey Burnout is lightweight, it drapes beautifully on the body, and it has just enough stretch across the grain for added comfort and wearing ease. This quality fabric features a stylish burnout design that provides a soft textured surface with a subtle semi sheer effect, and it is suitable for sewing into many apparel body styles fashioned for women's clothing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low. Warm, steam iron.
