The round bottom hem falls well below the waistline and is fashionably longer on the backside. Full length sleeves are finished with a simple turn-under hem. For a stylish look the sleeves can also be rolled back toward the elbow and fastened with a buttoning tab. Additional design elements include a comfortable loose fitting frame, and subtle single needle stitching throughout the blouse.

Our enchanting Scarlet fabric print draws inspiration from classical floral designs of the Victorian era during the early 1900’s. This was a time of brief return to romanticism in all art forms, including architecture, residential décor, and apparel. This was also a period where floral designs became more lavish, and utilized in excess. Floral patterns were often realistic and often combined to create a mélange of diverse species, thus imitating the contrived cottage gardens that were in vogue at that time.

Our Scarlet print here features a collage of exotic cottage flowers in pattern repeat, including Forest Violets, Japanese Peonies, Wild Daisies, Passion Fruit flowers, Orange Osmanthus, and Serrated Dianthus. There are also intricate floral paisley patterns and stylized Lotus symbols, all appearing to be floating among the flowers, creating a dreamlike effect to the printscape. There are also repeating rows of intriguing Hindu temple designs that add an exotic flair to the complexion to the fabric.
