Linen is a bast fiber, made from the fibers of the flax plant, and it is labor-intensive to manufacture, thus produced in relatively small quantities. When fabricated, it is highly valued for its’ smooth texture, organic natural luster, and exceptional coolness in hot weather. A very durable and strong fabric, linen is one of the few that is stronger wet than dry, and it has no lint or pilling tendency. This signature blend of Tencel and Rayon is a wonderful combination of refinement and practicality. For the environmentally-conscious, Tencel comes from a creation process using 100% biodegradable cellulose fiber that is processed using an organic solvent, then spun into a luxurious fiber.

Rayon, or Viscose Rayon, was the first manufactured textile fiber, invented in 1884 in France, but has been produced for global commercial use since 1905. This signature blend of Tencel and Rayon is a wonderful combination of refinement and practicality. Tencel lends weight to create long lines and an elegant drape, along with a soft feel and suede-like finish. For the environmentally-conscious, Tencel comes from a creation process using 100% biodegradable cellulose fiber that is processed using an organic solvent, then spun into a luxurious fiber.

Rayon, or Viscose Rayon, was the first manufactured textile fiber, invented in 1884 in France, but has been produced for global commercial use since 1905. Different from other man-made fibers, Rayon is not synthetic, being made from regenerated wood pulp, an Eco-natural, cellulose-rich raw material. Rayon's properties are renowned for their similarity to organic fibers such as cotton and linen. Rayon is soft, strong and absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable. We also love how vibrantly the colors appear on this fabric, enriching our garments with vivid hues.

THE STORY

Combining sensible styling with bold fabric print artistry, we have also crafted our woven Mud Print Dynasty Blouse using a natural fibered, eco-friendly Tencel & Rayon blend fabric chosen for long wearing comfort, durability and minimal care. Featuring a chic Mandarin collar, one of the hallmarks of Oriental apparel design, we have also added a few subtle feminine touches that render this top an elegant look to match the graceful drape of our signature Tencel fabric. Attention is drawn to a dramatic "mud cloth" motif print to help express your own personal sense of style.

Our hip length Dynasty Blouse features a twin-stitched Mandarin style collar that sweeps into a V-neck. The button down front sports reinforced seams. Long waistline darts flowing to the slightly rounded bottom hem flatters the torso, giving this fitted body style a classic, almost timeless look. Hemline side slits afford subtle flare to the hips as well as extra wearing comfort. Three-quarter length sleeves flow into band cuffs with ½" side slits. Garment dyed richness also adds distinctive character to this versatile wardrobe staple, which pairs easily with skirts, pants, leggings and designer jeans. This top is wonderful for traveling, and would make a smart addition to your office and weekend wardrobes.

Our stunning ethnic Mud Print fabric pattern draws inspiration from West African mud cloth textiles, called "Bogolanfini", a language composite of bogo (meaning "earth"), lan (meaning "with"), and fini (meaning "cloth"). Production of this cotton fabric is an ancient home-craft, and finished Bogolanfini are an authentic traditional art form. Our distinctive Mud Print here includes elements and patterns that have no particular symbolic meaning other than to simply look beautiful.

Silk fiber is actually very stronger than Cotton fiber. What makes silk delicate is if it is very shear. Shear silk can snag easily! The main reason people dry clean silk is so the garment does not shrink because most silk garment makers do not build in the shrinkage by pre washing to pre shrink…..
