FABRIC & CARE

FABRIC CONTENTS: 100% Silk 12MM Crêpe de Chine

Silk has been renowned for centuries as a valuable and luxurious commodity, often associated with wealth and status. The strongest of natural fibers, silk retains its shape, drapes well, caresses the figure, and because of its high absorbency, it is easily garment dyed in a variety of deep colors. This 100% Washable Silk Crêpe de Chine is woven to have a supple, organic feel, unlike many fabrics woven with synthetic fibers. With a 12 mommes weight factor, our Eco-friendly silk of choice is lightweight but is suitable for sewing into many body styles designed for women's silk clothing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low, or line dry, or air dry using a non-absorbent hanger. Warm, steam iron (silk setting). Dry clean OK.

Our pullover Bree Blouse has a classic round neckline with a frontside, centered pinch pleat. Generous 3/4 length barrel sleeves have gathered arm openings. Sumptuous draping flows downward to a hip-length squared bottom hem that has a fashionably longer backside. The backside also features a surplice wrap (starting at the neckline) that forms a stylish V-backline, and is further finished with handkerchief points to the hips. Subtle single-needle stitching throughout, coupled with a comfortable full-bodied fit, provides the wearer a fashion sensibility that is both flattering and sophisticated. Our mesmerizing Medina fabric print features the renowned “paisley”. This imagery draws inspiration from Persian botanical shawl patterns made popular by European textile manufactures since the early 1600’s, and especially from the town of Paisley in central Scotland, from which the fabric pattern takes its’ modern name. Origins of the exotic floral motif reach back to ancient Babylonian waterdrop symbols of a date palm shoot, later stylized into elongated curved shapes by Kashmir artisans. Our Medina print here showcases a mélange of stylized paisleys rendered in “watercolor motif” impressionist artistry, and in pattern repeat. FABRIC CONTENTS: 100% Linen Voile

Linen textiles appear to be some of the oldest in the world, where examples found in Europe and Africa date back thousands of years old. For centuries linen has often been associated with wealth since it was mainly used by the upper classes of society. Linen is a bast fiber, made from the fibers of the flax plant, and it is labor-intensive to manufacture, thus produced in relatively small quantities. When fabricated, it is highly valued for its’ smooth texture, organic natural luster, and exceptional coolness in hot weather. A very durable and strong fabric, linen is one of the few that is stronger wet than dry, and it has no lint or pilling tendency. Nevertheless, the tendency to wrinkle is often considered part of the fabric’s “charm”, including its’ random “slubs” (small knots) that provide the aesthetic appeal of a natural product.

This premium Linen Voile is lightweight, semi-sheer and gets softer the more it is washed. Linen Voile is also highly absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.
