We have crafted our woven Maiko Tulip Skirt using a natural fibered, eco-friendly Tencel & Rayon blend fabric chosen for its luxury weight, durability and minimal care. A generously cut frame offers appreciable long wearing comfort. Attention is drawn to a Japanesque “Geisha motif” print to help express your personal sense of style.

Our Tulip Skirt features a flattering drape that sweeps to mid-calf length. This pull-on “flutter skirt” silhouette has an elastic waistband that features triple-stitched reinforcement for added durability. The "tulip" shape profile here is finished at the bottom hem with a wide-band side-split ruffle. Garment dyed richness, subtle stitching throughout, and uncomplicated styling provide this skirt a character of refinement that well dressed women truly appreciate. This versatile piece is perfect for traveling, smart looking for the office, and would make a lovely addition to your weekend wardrobe.

This Tianello natural fibered Tencel garment was designed, developed and proudly Made In The USA using premium imported fabric.

Our sublime “Maiko” fabric print draws inspiration from the Japanese “karyūkai”, the elegant, high culture world (and prestigious industry), of Japan’s renowned Geisha. “Geisha” literally means “artist”, and the karyūkai (also known as “the flower and willow world”) is still said to be the geisha’s separate reality, from where these accomplished artisans learn the fine arts of poetry, calligraphy, music, dance, and conversation. Apprentice Geisha are called “Maiko”. Our print here shows Maiko Geisha perfecting their skills in repose. The bold written characters have no meaning other than to represent the exotic beauty of Asian calligraphy. This lovely visual superbly enhances the luxurious drape of our premium Tencel fabric.

FABRIC CONTENTS: 65% tencel / 35% Rayon

This signature blend of Tencel and Rayon is a wonderful combination of refinement and practicality. Tencel lends weight to create long lines and an elegant drape, along with a soft feel and suede-like finish. For the environmentally-conscious, Tencel comes from a creation process using 100% biodegradable cellulose fiber that is processed using an organic solvent, then spun into a luxurious fiber.

Rayon, or Viscose Rayon, was the first manufactured textile fiber, invented in 1884 in France, but has been produced for global commercial use since 1905. Different from other man-made fibers, Rayon is not synthetic, being made from regenerated wood pulp, an Eco-natural, cellulose-rich raw material. Rayon's properties are renowned for their similarity to organic fibers such as cotton and linen. Rayon is soft, strong and absorbent, which makes for an ideal garment in keeping the wearer cool and comfortable. We also love how vibrantly the colors appear on this fabric, enriching our garments with vivid hues.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash cold with like colors, and with mild detergent (do not use bleach, do not use Woolite, and do not pour fabric softener directly on garment). Tumble dry low (do not use dryer sheets). Warm, steam iron. Dry Clean OK.
